Well the corsair ram that I purchased was "xmp ram" that was ddr3 1333mhz but "overclocks" to 1600mhz. After 1600mhz they fell flat on there face and at times XMP ram can be annoying with certain motherboards and bios settings etc.

As far as the gskills I haven't had any trouble with my board and they overclock decently too.

It's mainly personal preference but I don't care for XMP ram personally. The gskills ended up overclocking much much better 🙂

Well, like I said, I generally don't OC my RAM. Thanks for the input, but I think that I'll stick with the Vengeance 2x4GB Dual Channel pack.

Personally I just got the Vengeance because it was cheaper. I don't really care about brands if they don't offer some measurable benefit over the other.

A bunch of games. You can check the Wikipedia article for PhysX for a list, but it's not all inclusive.

At any rate, lehtv has gotten you to see the light that the 6950 2GB card is better value for money. 🙂

The CM HAF 912 Plus case comes with a 200mm front fan, and a 120mm rear fan. I'm adding a 200mm top fan, and a 120mm side fan. Which ones would you drop without losing cooling efficiency?

Any that don't come for free with the case. The stock HAF setup is perfectly sufficient for a moderate system like what you're building.

There have been arguments for NVIDIA cards having better performance in games with GPU PhysX support like Mafia II, Batman: Arkham City, and Metro 2033. But yeah, it's not that great of a benefit when compared to 1 GHz higher memory bandwidth on the HD 6950 2GB over even the 2GB edition of the GTX 560 Ti.

Basically it all comes back to NVIDIA hogging the PhysX market - a HD 6950 2GB with GPU PhysX capabilities would be nice. 🙂

Yeah, that's what I'm going with now. I'll get some more fans later if the rig just won't stay cool in my apartment (yeah, overheating in Finland 😵).

PhysX is owned by Nvidia, so I doubt you'll ever see an AMD card with PhysX support. Good thing that game devs know this and never add features that both require PhysX and affect gameplay itself.

Yeah, don't I know that all too well. At one point it was NVIDIA blaming ATI for not jumping on the PhysX bandwagon, and ATI blaming NVIDIA for not letting them on that bandwagon.
