Why? Just got the processor in today along with the motherboard, an ECS K7VTA3, which supposedly supports XP processors. BIOS says FSB is running at 100, which I suspect is the problem, but it wont let me change that. I can't find a physical jumper for this, so anyone have an idea?

did you check for BIOS updates? Are you 100% certain it won't let you swap between 100/133 in the BIOS?

manual says:

this items displays the frontside bus frequency. this is a display only item. You cannot make changes to this field.

I cant find a jumper for it and Im not sure about BIOS updates but it says on the box is XP compatible so why would it do this?

I'm currently using a piece of crap KT133 board (brand unknown) with SDRAM. I have an Athlon 1200 in it, but it will only run at 100MHz bus leaving me with a 900MHz CPU. I suspected that was your problem as well. I'll be replacing this board with a Giga-Byte one in the near future (see my poll and thread on it). Glad you figured it out!
