Here is a list of the newly titled Platinum games. They should soon all be $20 everywhere. Glad I waited on Hitman 2.

"Blinx: The Time Sweeper" (Microsoft Game Studios)
"Dead or Alive 3" (Tecmo)
"Dead to Rights" (Namco)
"The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind" (Bethesda Softworks)
"Hitman 2 - Silent Assassin" (Eidos)
"James Bond 007: Nightfire" (Electronic Arts)
"Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring" (Vivendi Universal)
"Medal of Honor: Frontline" (Electronic Arts)
"Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit 2" (Electronic Arts)
"Pac-Man World 2" (Namco)
"Spider-Man: The Movie" (Activision)
"Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4" (Activision)
"Unreal Championship" (Atari)

Why hasn't HALO gone platinum yet? I'm interested in getting an XBOX and HALO, but I don't want to pay $50 for a game that came out back when the console launched.

Because the game is so good that they know people will still buy it even though it's 2 yrs old and still costs $50.

Their gonna milk Halo until part two comes out. They know it's one of the most popular games and people will continue to pay for it. It's worth $50 tho.

halo still sells 10s of thousands of copies every month. games usually become platinum once they stop selling well at full price. people forget about games, then they turn into platinum/greatest hits/whatever and all the sudden people start buying again.

i was heistant to buy halo at full price, but finally picked it up two months ago. i literally waited 8 months for a price drop before finally giving up. it is WELL worth the money at full retail price, and is not dated at all. i really wish i picked it up sooner, the game is incredible.

Halo has been on sale many times. It's been $34.99 at a few places in the last 2 weeks and around Christmas last year, I bought 2 copies on bestbuy.com for $29.99 each

Pac Man 2 is pretty much like Crash Bandicoot if you ever played that on PS. Fun for about 10 minutes. Probably better to rent because it gets boring pretty quick.

I love PMW2!!! It is a real challenge to do all of the levels perfectly, and I am a Pac-Man lover from way back. Spent tons of $$$ in the arcades playing Pac-Man and all its variations...

PMW2 has an arcade in it that once you get enough tokens, you can unlock games to play. Also, each level you go to has a maze, and once you have successfully completed those, you can go to the arcade to play them again.

My only real complaint is that the camera in PMW2 would get a 2 out of 10 from me. Often is very hard if not impossible to get it pointing the way you want it to.

Is Unreal, Hitman or James Bond worth it?

What do you guys think of Dead or Alive 3? I played it a while ago and thought it was cool and all, but really sugar coated. The game looked great but there wasnt any replay value.

Im thinking of picking up Soul Calibur 2, but everyone says DOA is better, wft? I know SC2 will have tons of replay value, but hows the game play?

Unreal Championship is "ok"... Obviously not as good as UT2k3 on the PC.

4-player split screen sucks due to severe slowdown, but I hear it's pretty good online.

traditional fighting games all have the same replay value. if you play against ppl, you can play all day and night long. if you play against comp, then its just another fighting game.

Unreal championship has an update you can get off of live which helps the framerate I'm told ... I liked 007: Nightfire a lot, has a really good presentation ... feels like you're in the movie, but the framerate was so butter smooth (constant 60fps, no motion blur) that I got motion sickness from playing it for too long.

I like Soul Calibur 2 better than DOA3 just because SC2 is something most people can pickup and play and have fun where as DOA3 you need to be really good at it ... Thats just my opinion.

I personally don't think that DOA3 is even in the same league as either Soul Calibur. DOA3 is still good... But it's no SC. 🙂

I agree with the above review. If you can get it on the cheap, it's fun. The camera sucks though.

Unreal is only good if you have LIVE. Otherwise don't bother. But it's a great game. And there is a mandatory download that takes care of most issues it had. You can also download new levels. Good game.
