New Xbox Live Dashboard

I'm downloading it now... Any real good improvements?

Did it stop the no-chip mods?

It hasn't worked for me at all. I actually just bought the kit 2 days ago. Installed it, updated to the 2.0 dashboard, and that's it. Everytime I try to play a Live enabled game (Mech Assault, NFL 2k3) It tells me I need to update my Xbox Live and when it goes to do it, it just times out and tells me it can't contact the server. I know it works cause i can ping my xbox on my lan and I've used xbconnect. Brute Force did let me download maps after doing the update, but that's it.

Works fine for me., but i've heard thats a common problem. No info on a fix. This update mainly is for the addition of voice chat between those on your friends list OUTSIDE of a game and the integration of LIVEWEB to allow your account to be accessed online as well.

On Mod-Chips, the word going around (nothing official yet) says that now even if you have a mod chip installed and turned off, the system can detect and will not allow you to access LIVE until the original config is restored.

Turns out it was my router. I have a Linksys befsr41 and it just needed a firmware upgrade. I had the Dec 2002 firmware (forget the version number) Now I can get online. BTW that rumor is false.

I thought it's automatically download, but as of last night I didn't get it, even after going into the old Live dashboard.

Just tried Mech Assault and going to try nfl 2k3 later. Is there a list anywhere that shows which games are live enabled? I'd like to see what's available.

No, you have to download it directly from Microsoft.

I would think it would be. Updates had to be made to the C:\ thus getting thoes files from the C:\ drives isnt too hard with a modchip. If I wasnt so lazy, I would go check my C:\ drive.

Yes, it stops the Font and Audio exploit. The 007 and Mechassault save exploits still work of course.
