The "S" controller is now the "regular" controller packaged with all systems, they dropped the "duke" (bigger controller) back in 2002.

Theres one of those stores 5min away! I've been dodge'n getting one forever. The kids got a PS2 (and Genesis). I live on my PC Games. They'd only tie up my HT. (55" 16x9 HD with JBL's and SVS 40" tall sub!) Halo would be incredible.......Just say no.......Just say no......

must resist. thanks for the post.

been avoiding the console for so long, been more of a pc gamer.. but with the graphics quality of the console
these days.. it's cheaper to go this way.. this is only about half of what you'd pay for a high end graphics card
for the pc.

I'm going to pick up a second Xbox so I can mod it. At about $130 after tax and rebate, it's an awesome deal.
 
This deal is even hotter starting this Sunday. I just picked up my xbox at Strawberries for $149 with $30 rebate. The very helpful clerk gave me a copy of their weekend sales flier. Going on sale Sunday if you buy a new xbox for $119 and buy a copy of splinter cell for $29 (great price), you get a free DVD Remote kit. That's a $30 value. They only had 5 left, so I was happy just getting the xbox $119 after rebate.

I would say, if you're going to spend $149, just spend another $ 40 at Costco, for $189 you get;

You can't deny the gravitational pull that is acting on you, just give in to the pressure, it is so much easier than fighting it. Halo is a very good game on the pc, will definently have to try it on my new xbox from FYE.
 
WTF? The kid at FYE made me buy a game to get the rebate. I'm going back tomorrow to return the P.O.S. and punch him in the face.

Ive got a PS2 and Xbox being pumped through my 6.1 surround sound system and its wicked.....Halo is a blast to play....literally lol
 
Xbox is awesome... they should give them away because they slay you on the price of the games. Loving Ghost Recon on the xbox live... can't wait for Halo2. My PC will grow dust at that point! 😀
 
COMPLETELY YMMV... but a friend went to FYE yesterday and picked up an xbox with this deal. However, they didn't have the rebates available (I'm assuming he meant the forms). Somehow he managed to get them to sell it for $119 (in other words, at the rebate price). Of course, there's no reason he can't go online and get the form... he may be the only person who gets this deal, though! Quite possibly the most YMMV of any deal, ever.
 
Just an FYI. i am not sure what you are calling the Holiday bundle, but at Wal-Mart where I work, the Black Friday Holiday bundle last year had three games with it. The old bundle was just the two games which i have seen forever and the new one is not bundled with any games. No biggie, i would have tried to sell them or trade them in anyways.
 
Tetris and a Star Wars for the regular bundle, i do not remeber which the third one was for the holiday bundle, but it was a newer game at the time.
 
Unfortunately there are no stores in all of Nevada, so I'm out. For any others of you in similar situations, there is hope. GameStop is selling used XBoxes for $119.95. (Refurbs for $129.95) Not new, true, but available.
 
Anyone have the rebate form they can send me? They fed me a line at the store on why it wasn't available, so I got it anyway and am trying to get a copy of the rebate form, thanks
