Here's my problem.
The ATI Ruby demo (v1.2) loads, says warming cache, and then my monitor loses the signal and goes into sleep mode. The only way to recover from this is to reboot my computer. I've had this exact same thing happen while playing BF:V and UT2K4. The only difference is that I was actually able to get the games running.
Now, I know it's not a deffective card because I can run the ATI Crowd demo all day long and my temp only hits 65C. I'm also able to run 3dmark03 (scored a little under 12k), 3dmark2001se, and OpenGL games without any problems.
I've tried everything I can think of including a clean install. I've been told that it could be my power supply but I really don't think so because I have no problem running the ATI Crowd demo for hours. If it was my PS, why would I be able to run the Crowd demo but not the ruby demo? Also, I've been using this same 420W PS for two years with my 9700 Pro and have never seen this problem until now.
I'm going to get a new PS today and see if that works. I'm also going to try replacing my monitor. Could it be a problem with my monitor not liking the X800 XT PE?
Anyway, if you've run into this same problem or have any suggestions it would be really appreciated. I'm at the end of my rope and about to put this thing up on ebay. CompUSA wants to charge me a 15% restock for if I return the card.
