Out of curiosity, why do you hate prequels? A 'prequel', in this sense, just means that the game chronologically takes place before the original game, rather than after. It's still a full-length standalone title in the same universe.

I play games mostly for the story. Whatever happens in this game will mean nothing, since we already know what will happen to Blazkowitz :)

There's little to nothing we know about this game aside that it's a prequel. Who knows, it might have little to nothing to do with TNO

Sill waiting for 75% off TNO, still no base price drop either.

Hopefully by the summer sale there's going to be a nice discount for buying both games.

The last scene with the shotgun... PRICELESS.

I will totally get this game is it's anywhere near TNO.

They should remake Wolf3D level by level with the TNO engine. Add an extra episode too. *drools*.

Still only singleplayer? Not paying full price for single player. Was TNO optimized for PC?

Can't wait, there was something very satisfying about new order that made the gameplay really fun. I liked the fact that you could approach the game a few different ways, either stealth, all out ballsy action or cover based shooter style. The devs did a really great job with New order so I'm looking forward to this.

Will be waiting for a sale for this, I paid full price for TNO and the campaign turned out to only be about 7 hours.

I paid $18 and my campaign was about 20 hours. This a game that really rewarded taking your time and soaking in the environments.

Also like the TNO but got it on sale. I see very little point in paying full price for any single player game. The experience will probably be better 6 months after launch when everything is optimized.

Nothing wrong with it, but that's a bit like saying Hobbit was not worth watching, you know what happens to him already from the earlier movies,, or Batman Begins, we know the result, Or Xmen :First class, we already know what happens to the Xmen. . While its just a game, they have started to flesh out a alt universe, and there are many stories to tell. We saw the giant walker (beach) and the robo dogs, think of the stuff built before them, mini walkers with a few guys, jet pack troopers, and another guy (say a brit this time) and his lone attack on a secret military base that does mechanical research.. all sorts of prototype things.. man and tank, etc.. say something about how the resistances last days. Maybe even (and Im guessing) show what made Blazkowitz so good at his job, practice I'm sure, killing bad guys! So much they can do, and I am sure will, with ideas that make mine look silly.

no worries, not a jab, at all, From most prequels i have played/seen I'm sure you attitude has kept you away from more bad crap then good :)
So its not such a bad one to have.

Overall, I have to agree with a bad feeling about prequels. They are not necessarily terrible, but compare several prequels to the original

Star Wars--original trilogy much better. Only one movie in the 3 prequels was even decent.

The Hobbit--I saw all 6 movies, and while the Hobbit series was OK, I dont think it was near the quality of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Finally, Borderlands Pre-Sequel, Ok at best if you like the more consolized low gravity platforming gameplay (which I didnt), But it definitely felt weird playing as say Nisha, who you killed earlier as the sheriff in Lynchwood. And you only have to look at the number of posts in this forum for the pre-sequel compared to BL2 to see how much lower the level of interest was.

I know whether one likes a movie or game is somewhat subjective, but I cant really think of any prequel or series of prequels that is generally considered superior to the original.

It's something I don't enjoy, so I'm not spending money on it :) I didn't like the Hobbit movies to be honest (only Tauriel, since I had no idea about her), neither did I enjoy the first 3 Star Wars movies. I loved Borderlands 2, one of my all time favorite games. Skipped TPS... I just don't enjoy it, I keep seeing what will happen to the characters and whatever I do won't change anything. Especially Nisha and Wilhelm - you kill both in BL2 and it's not even that hard ;)

I'm sure most people don't see it like that and can thoroughly enjoy a back story of something. But I can't, so I'm not spending money on it :)
