New Wireless Network

I have this wireless router: Text

This is my first wireless setup and I didn't have a problem setting it up. For the most part, signal strength is good around the area the network is going to be used and the connection is excellent. I have 2 laptops and a Wii hooked up to the router. Everything is fine except when one device wants to stream audio or video. In this case, the internet speed slows down to almost a complete halt on the other 2 devices. When 2 computers want to stream audio/video, the quality is horrible on both. What leads me to believe that this is a wireless issue is that I can connect the 2 laptops physically to the router and everything works fine. Anyone have any suggestions or similar experiences? Thanks.

Wireless bandwidth is at a premium. You don't have 54 Mb/s, closer to 6-8, and it's SHARED...the channels have load limits, and if one is using 50% of the bandwidth, then the others have to share that remaining 50%

That's normal behavior. Wireless is sickeningly slow plus it's half duplex nature brings back the horrors of networking in the late 1980s.
