New Wireless-N Network

Hey Anandtech,

I recently purchased a Linksys Dual-band Wireless-N router (WRT320N) for my home network. All the laptops in the house connected up just fine, using the alternate frequency (they don't have "N" adapters), but I really want to get the full effects of the "N" network for my second desktop.

I actually bought the Linksys WMP300N, but it doesn't support the 5GHz dual-band features... and it doesn't like to connect to the 2.4 GHz band either. I get TERRIBLE download speeds from a networking protocol that is "supposed" to be better. I plan to return this.

The WMP600N looks like a strong option, but I can't find anywhere to purchase it, and it doesn't appear to have the robust antenna like the WMP300N. I feel I need the extra antennae to get out from behind my desk where there are multiple surge protectors and cords running around like crazy.

Do you guys have any suggestions for a desktop card that supports the full dual-channel wireless-N features and has an antenna that will get me out from behind my desktop?

If you don't have any suggestions for a different card, have any of you been able to get the WMP300N to perform well on your 2.4GHz wireless-N networks?

There is No 802.11n standart there is only Draft_N.
Being a Draft the vendor sell only wajt they can make money on and there is No support of additional devices.

The WRT320N is a single radio device, and as you need to run it in legacy compatibility mode, it is practically a single band device. So there's not much point in looking for a dual-band client.

The WRT400N is simultaneous dual-band, and could be paired for example with a WET610N to try both bands. Note however that with distance and obstructions (but not interference or crowding), the 2.4 GHz band generally outperforms the 5 GHz band.
