A friend of mine has a new windows 2000 system and has never used a windows machine before. It's got a fast connection to the internet -- can you all recommend some software he should download to show off the machine's capabilities? Favorite games, applications, demos, videos, etc?

Copernic 5.0 is an amazing software for researching, very useful if he is in school or even for anyone

dont foget about AIM and ICQ
heres some other stuff i got off the net
- download accelerator plus.
- Mirc
- windows media player 7
- divx 3.11 (for wmp7)
- real audio player
- winamp
- wall paper changer
- roger wilco
- game Voice
most importantly just get drivers for the stuff on ur comp that u need.
some of the things on my list like game voice or roger wilco is for communicating through the comp (like walkie talkies)
