New webcam only shows a black image

Hi, Ive got a Dynex webcam that says its compatible with Vista, but I'm only getting a black image. It works fine on a different XP machine. I've tried reinstalling software, drivers, and everything I could think of.. Any ideas on what I should do? thanks

Are you sure it was pointing at something light?
Sorry - got to ask the obvious -
If you know it is working, and you get the camera window on the computer, then try changing contrast or brightness if you still can't see something.

Take off the lens cap.

I have exactly the same problem - it has to be a Vista 64 issue. This sucks. I specificaly gave up my perfectly good cam for a "Vista 64 approved" cam. Rubish!
