he'll also tell you his great stories about how great his OC's are when he got a Core 2 to 3.6ghz when the average air OC is 3.2-3.4ghz.

those extra 200mhz-400mhz cost an additional $200-400 over a simple Zalman 9700 or Tuniq Tower

dont be hating me, because you cant afford it.

And dont be trolling someone elses thread

I had a Zalman 9700 and a Thermalright Ultra120. I got bored with both of them. I got to 3.49GHz stable, and it was benchable up to 3.733GHz.

It's a hobby. It's something to do. It's overclocking. Sometimes you just feel the need to go above and beyond. And we can afford it.

And BTW, my system is going to cost me $800 over a top-of-the-line aircooler.
Why am I doing it? Because I want to.

And Aigo, thanks. I found the PA 120.3 @ MM.
It was OoS @ DD, PTS, and Jab-Tech.

Louis, grow up. Your little kid attitude is so not needed on this forum.

The Op knows the pro's and cons to water. If you never gone water, dont particpate in watercooling threads.

I mearly point people in the correct decission when they want a true water migration. Never have i ever pressured anyone to make this migration.

So Just STFU from my threads, and others who need my help.

And next time i will notify a MOD if you troll ANY of my threads, or people asking for help, if you dont have anything good to say.

well then, PA 120.3 and an MCR220 it is.
And I was looking through XS and found your UFO build again. I liked those EK reservoirs you use. Should I stay with the MicroRes's or would you recommend the EK's? cuz they look great.
thanks again Aigo.</end quote></div>

EK's have a very bad cyclone effect if you use a strong pump, and low restriction blocks.

You might get annoyed.

I would go with the MCRes until EK's new revisions are available. And i have no idea on when that will be. Most likely next month, or 2-3 weeks.

if you guys really like the ek res, they just came out with a new one that stops the cyclone efffect

and the link to the thread about it http://www.xtremesystems.org/f...t=149622&highlight=res

Yeah, Raider, look at Aigo's last line, it mentions those. Amazing how such a simple adjustment does that...

Aigo, you must have freaking whirlpools in your EK's with that Iwaki.

1. this is a forum, thats similar to saying "if you don't have a Core2Duo, don't post in any C2D threads. isn't everyone here to learn?

2. i didn't question any of your intelligence in water cooling. i was merely joking about how in most thread related to watercooling, you'd post up your specs and setup.

3. this is your thread?

wow. can we please just get back to my watercooling system and stop the stupid bickering?

well, maybe the EK's will be out by the time i buy the stuff. (as i said, if i don't buy it now, i'll spend the money, and I DID. i got a second 7950GT on eBAY for $180.).

So it'll be a few months until I buy the stuff and start a work log thread.

sorry op, that little kid has something against me. It dates back about a year when he was bragging about his AMD 4800+, how he got it for free from his EX, and him glorifying his lian li V2000.

Anyhow, yes i did have a bad cyclone effect, but i managed to tun it down a bit by extending the top of the res with about 6 inches of tubing. The res was then toped off, with extra to spare, and it got rid of the cyclone effect.

Another way is is to cut up a credit card and place it in the middle. That will also take care of the cyclone effect.

well, the EK site has the new reservoirs in their catalog... only have to wait for them to reach the states (I'm not paying 40 EU plus a huge shipping charge for a reservoir).

email john over at jab-tech.com Ask him if he's got them in.

Or email alex/quoc at petrastechshop.com

They have a very fast reponse time, and should tell you aprox when they will get the new revisions.

ehhh. There's no way I'm going to have the money ANY time soon now. It's gonna be the new year before I get my watercooling... this is going to drive me insane.

But anyways, I've decided to go for a custom MM case for a couple hundred big ones to satisfy my need for dual 120x3 radiators, amongst other specifications not found in standard cases. =D. This project has gone from $450 to $2200+. $1000 for watercooling. $600+ for MM case. $300 for Q6600. $200 for new RAM. $200 for second 7950GT.

P.S. Does anyone know of a way to get a couple thousand dollars really quickly? ;)

i just want people to learn from my experience. I have already spent the money to try stuff out, and i just want to make it easy for people to decide on what to get.

When i recomend something, its most definitely because i have it, played with it, and ended up loving it.

I would say each year i go though almost 5g's in computer parts total. This is a very high number to most users on this forum. So if you have someone doing 5g's also being independant to every company, and they share info, isnt that something people should thank me for?

Instead i get little kids who cant afford it flaming me. :T

And i never recomend the extreme parts to anyone. If i did, OP would need to find another 1000 to play with. Which then he would most likely cry. :X

once i get it, i'll post it in this thread. but not until i learn if i beat the back-order. otherwise it'll be 2 weeks until i get it.
it'll be on stock b/c it'll be on air with an Ultra120 (not eXtreme). maybe it'll be at 400*6 so I can run it 1:1 with my RAM.
you think i could hit 333*9 (3GHz) on a lapped Ultra120? The Q6600 will be lapped as well.

from my experience.

It takes less voltage for 333x9 stable, then 370x8

The higher fsb you go, the more voltage it takes, for some wierd reason. Or maybe its just my crappy 680i board.

But a lower fsb with x9 multi should be easier then higher fsb with lower multi. Expecially since there are nasty fsb walls.

Not a wierd reason. There's an article on Tech Repository. Something about signal strength and "waves"; instability is when the waves aren't correct or the signals aren't making the connections... I didn't understand it much, my friend summarized it for me in Chem instead.

If you can make the 370x8 stable though, higher FSB is more bandwidth, so that's the better option. It's just harder to stabilize.
