Oh and I was pulling apart my old rig and I realized why my CPU temps were always so mediocre on a Apogee GTX and a TC PA 120.3... I had a horrible TIM application. And I did sleeve my tubing cuz i was bored.

So I started cutting out my P182 for my MCR320QP. I couldn't afford a top for my MCP355 so I had to mod the stock top to fit 1/2" ID tubing. Still waiting on two motherboards and a PSU...

I finished the i7 build. Will post pics later. Still cutting the case for my Q6600 build. Now it's time to reformat ALL of my OSes... blarg.

I'm sorry Aigo, but I can't find my USB cable for my camera, nor can I find an SD card reader. I'm not especially proud of this build. I was kinda messy. I just really needed a working desktop again.

:( I'd be depressed beyond belief if it were my card. I thought I had it bad when I lost the abomination 7950gx2.

Nooooooooo. My GTX 260 died.

NOW WITH PICS

how?

Aigo, the photos are in the OP's first post.

Edit: All the photo's the OP took of his system are here:
http://profile.imageshack.us/user/PCTC2

Most of those are my old system which is being rebuilt.

And I believe Aigo is asking how my GTX 260 Core 216 Rev 2 55nm died.

Aigo, yeah. I don't know how. I was within the OS, just checking on temps and stuff when it just shut off. Not even a blue-screen. Just shut off. So I jump and unplug it. Test my PSU. It's fine. Test my motherboard. It's fine. Test my GPU. No boot. Motherboard won't even turn on. Doesn't even get to POST. So I think something is shorted. None of the RAM/Mosfet sinks fell off so I don't know how.

(So @stock, in a 24C room, my i7 was at 32C on Prime95 x64 w/ Turbo mode on @ 2.8GHz).

I love these threads. Quality of water cooling is the some total of your components and how ya loop. Ya have a bunch of gurus come in and tell ya how it is. LOL.

Heres a bunch of gurus going spastic over something that really looks good.
Ya might find this funny . But really isn't when it comes to your setup . I can tell the op isn't new to this . SO op what do ya want from your system . Thats how you buy. Alot of blocks are better or worse than the so called gurus will tell ya.

I like this flick . Just view as a bunch of water cooling gurus eyeballing a new water block. I think you will understand.

Son of a monkey's inbred retard uncle.

I was stress testing my Q6600 last night. It was running fine, the 8800GTS G92 @ 750/1780/980DDR and my Q6600 was at stock. Runnng Furmark and Prime95 64bit, my Graphics card is at 60 and my Q6600 was at 60. I knew I needed to check something out but I figured I"d wait. 60C was fine. Probably thermal paste, right?

Fast forward 10 hours.

I wake up and my computer is off. I'm like, "WTF". I was running a temp logging program, so apparently sometime last night, it rose up to 100C on the Q6600 and shut off. So I checked the GPU and at turnoff it was at 78C. I'm like "WTF WTF WTF". So I'm looking at the system temps currently and they're 95C on the CPU and 75 on the CPU at ZERO LOAD. and then it shuts off again from a temp spike. So I boot into the BIOS and check out the computer. My brand new MCP355 is dead. Apparently there was a slight air leak last night so it was cavitating all night and was working too hard. and then, but cause my t-line was capped, and it stopped leaking air into the loop and wasn't leaking water, there was an air pressure created that the pump couldn't handle and it just died. FSCK

And I'm still waiting on 2 parts for my i7 rig. I don't think I'm meant to have a 24/7 rig.

I don't know about the GTX yet. Haven't pulled it off. I bought a new MCP355, an XSPC top and a new Swiftech MCRes Revision 2. I should get everything in by the end of the week. And I get my second GTX 260 Core 216 55nm on Tuesday.

im guilty of giving a computer a full own shower because i got lazy and forgot to use clamps.

lol...

so dont worry, the slower you take it, the smoother the transition is even if you mess up somewhere.

The sad thing I'm disappointed with, is that if the pump didn't die, I would using the money that is for the replacement parts on a MCR220 and another MCP355 and a bit extra on another MCW60-Rev2.

I actually decided to go with a GTX 260 55nm SLI rig. The second one will now have to be air-cooled, which is fine for now (my rad is pretty close to max thermal dissipation with an OC'd i7 and a GTX 260. The first one I got for $260 and the second I got for $280, both the SuperClocked eVGA version. But I with promotions on software I would buy anyways, I probably saved around $70, so I really spent $470, which is not bad. And stepping up to a GTX 295 would have involved a much more exotic cooling upgrade (a second rad and new fc block) which would've been more expensive.

And I'm still waiting for my RMA of my 7950GT. I wonder if I'll get a straight replacement refurb or an upgrade because they're out of 7950GTs...

hahaha. I would want a PA 120.3 for myself first (a second one) and all I can find are DDC-3.2's. But sorry, I'm broke. I can barely afford this for myself.

So far this is what I've had to buy in just cooling for 2 computers:
Thermochill PA 120.3
Swiftech MCR320-QP
2x Swiftech MCP355 (DDC-3.2's)
1x XSPC Top for DDC-3.2
1x Swiftech MCP655 (D5)
1x EK-FC88GT G92
1x MCW-60 Revision 2
1x ApogeeGTX w/ Copper top
1x ApogeeGTZ w/ 1366 bracket
1x EK-Res150
1x Swiftech MCRes Revision 2
2x T-lines
Lot's of EK-High Flow barbs
Lot's of YateLoon and Zalman ZM-F3 fans
20+ feet of Tygon 7/16" Tubing

Plus, I've had my GTX 260 die, one pump die, and a few other parts die. I'm not happy with how much I've had to spend.

And you might be better off with one of the new XSPC RX360 radiators. Cheaper than TC with possibly similar performance.
EDIT: Plus, the PT Top for DDC-2/3.2's is no longer available through PTS. The only place you can find them are at DangerDen, and I don't know how much stock they have left.

No new pictures. Forgot to take them. System is up and running in a rough state. Still installing OS (Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit).

Bled the system, installed 2x GTX 260 Core216 SuperClocked 55nm. Installing, the ambient air is 19C and the water is at 25.8C. Internal system temperatures range from 23-33C.

Now, what to do with my new 8800GT?

Update: Having problems with graphics drivers and such. Some nice BSODs during Mirror's Edge.

Running Prime64 right now on 8 threads. Running at 3.778GHz, 1.225v. Cores @ 57/54/54/50C.
EDIT: Ambients are somewhere between 13 and 20C. Air intake temperature is 20C.

Finished my Q6600 upgrade w/ the reservoir and the XSPC top. Pics for both rigs will be up later. I'm happy. Except my i7 draws 710W and my Q6600 draws around 370W. No more 24/7 operation.

And that is why all my servers are based on the Atom 330. 80W each for all harddrives and PCI SATA cards.
