cars are getting too "bubblier" these days...interior is always looking better, but damn the new exterior "style"
 
I'm impressed...Volvo's made probably the biggest steps towards getting into the mainstream, from what their designs used to look like...I also like the new Saab 9-3...which is why I'm looking into getting one. 🙂
 
OMG, official pics are HOT! Reminds me of the A4 - compact, stout and solid-looking.
 
I wonder how the S60 and S80 are going to look... S80 T6 to be specific since that was a choice in my dad's consideration for cars.... but then he wondered why he just doesn't get a Mercedes... I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens...
 
I don't get the interior. Where is the CD/Tape/Radio? I don't see any displays.
Is it a case of form over function? If you got the space, why not use it, and make buttons bigger so they are easier to find while driving.
 
This is patterned after the S60, not the A4. You can argue if S60 borrows from A4 all you want. But even starting with the 850, Volvo's front end has been progressing towards this shape.

Jesus Christ. When will people stop trying to see similarities? Just because it has an arched roof doesn't make it a freaking Passat rip off. Just because the 350z comes in silver doesn't make it a TT rip off. Just because BMWs have kidney grilles doesn't make them Pontiac rip offs.

I don't see it. In your mind, every car is VW/Audi ripoff. I remember you were saying same thing about Altima, 350Z.
I think you are extrapolating too much from a few similarities. I am not saying there aren't some common design elements, but from where I am sitting, it's clearly a mini S60 as opposed to a A-4 copy. S60 has similar front end and similar back end.

It's more than that, look at the side. It is very similar to an Audi A4 or VW Passat.
