After the Skype deal ends (And it will end no doubt in December 2006) then one needs to look at there call pattern. Many are going to cell phones and dropping the $25 (My est.) land line. Getting a unlimited incoming number might be the way to go.

Why switch to cell then give out your cell number and run up costs. Give out the free voicestick number and let it go to voicemail. Or call forward it to the the cell when needed.

Even if you do a few hundred minutes (at 2 cents a minute) that $4 or $5 is a lot less then the land line.

The world is changing! Heck you need to change if you are going to keep gas in your car 🙂

Ben,
I believe you and I are on exactly the same page in RE: this.

I just ordered my #, next to nuttin and there was still no activation fee when I signed up, I bought their USB drive AND a Plantronics head set on their site for $9.99 (a good deal) as you had previously stated.

I got a number that was so incredibly easy to memorize it had me hooked.
Additionally, I got the Skype USB phone http://usb.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.ph...ESSID=b0530f239319744c55c269bf1ad30a1c

Even if nothing comes of it this year, I'm already thinking of dropping my home # which I've had for twenty-five years...it can never hurt to be prepared. 😀😀😀

Ben, Now, we've got to go to work on that free gas!

Forget free gas.... TOO much politics, and don't get me started. China won an award for a car that burns Ho2 (Hydroger Peroxide) Very cleaver design, and hO2 is cheap to make!

And where is America!!!!!

I love the Skype / Voicestick thing. It sticks it to Ebay (they own Skype) and gives a small Atlanta based company a chance.

I have the Voicestick MG3 and use a regular phone and I have a Sprint cell with Sprint to home service for $5 more. You are smart, you will figure out what I am doing 🙂 Who cares about gas now!

how do you get free incoming with voicestick? I thought it was 24.99/mo.

I did manage to load both skype and voipbuster software on a flash drive and they work on any computer with a high speed internet connection. Still need a mic or headset.

If you get a skype phone number for $3 a month, concievably you can get incoming calls whereever you can plug in the flash drive without installing software on a computer.
Might want to get a USh headset or skype handset.

At any rate...life is good for cheap phonecalls these days.

The $25 plan he mentioned is an unlimited global plan. They have what they call a Next 2 Nothing plan that is a free incoming number and free incoming calls

Tons of features and you can use anywhere. I got in on their $200 for 2 years of service deal about a month ago. So far, everything has been great and its super easy to set up.

So I'm assuming this deal you got is no longer active?

I am setting up my Sprint PCS service the same way you are doing it. Unfortunately, I had to signup for Sprint Long Distance as well. Were you able to setup Sprint Long Distance on the Voicestick phone # or did you have to set it up on your land line phone?

THis is a bunch of bull from the Sprint CSR. They pushed LD on you !

The program does NOT require you to have Sprint Long distance.

IF you take the Sprint LD then the Sprint 2 Home is free, BUT you MUST use the regular home phone number.

If you want to save a fortune using the VoiceStick bridge then drop the Sprint LD, and pay the $5 for Sprint 2 Home.

JUst spoke to a freind and he found another way to get unlimited free calls. He wnet with the T-mobile MyFaves. He made Voicestick one of the numbers now all the in and out are free.

I may switch my Sprint some day for this deal.

I picked up a Vphone for $10 at the swapmeet from one of the guys selling a truckload of Best Buy returns, any way to format the flash and just use it for storage and as a sound device, ie forget the vonnage stuff? Surfed a bit and haven't seen word one about using it. Also, it sure LOOKS like it installs something the first time you plug it into anything.

I have the Voicestick USB drive, and I think the V-Phone is set up the same way as it auto boots. The operating system sees it just as a drive. Just format it, and it will all be storage.
