The Alamo Drafthouse’s new Badass Digest website quotes a source close to the next “Star Trek” movie who says Khan will not be featured in the project.

But the same source indicates one of five classic Trek elements will be featured:
It’s definitely a character that will make fans of TOS excited. Think along the lines of Harry Mudd or Trelane or Gary Mitchell or the Talosians or the Horta. Actually it’s one of those that I named.
Any of them would be awesome. I think they could do worse than working in all five.

I'd love to see Gary Mitchell or Trelane... in fact... Trelane would be the best.

You want Liberace as the villain in the next Star Trek Movie?

If they do a TOS episode villain, how about the Gorn? Maybe the Organians? Turn them from super power space hippies to super powerful space villains?

Q needs to appear in it, if only in cameo. Also the last movie was quite a bit similar to the Invasion novels, would have been 10x better if they had gone that route.

BORG

And get Nimoy involved too, I totally wanna see old school Spock F up the Borg.

I liked the new movie and the new cast, but all the best parts were the old school Spock scenes.

Q had nothing to do with anything during that time period.

Am surprised they arent making Klingons the villains this time around, or is that too easy?

You obviously aren't a trekkie. Q has everything to do with every time period. If you knew anything about star trek you'd know that one of Q's buddies was actually in one of the original movies. Q has been a part of EVERY series.

Ha!

Talosians = meh, Trelane = also meh.

Mudd would be kind of fun, but that could easily lead to a terrible Star Trek V-style movie. They'd better be careful if they go that way.

I wouldn't mind seeing a Horta, but the whole point is that it's not a villain. I don't know what kind of plot you could do around a Horta. Other than just recycling "Devil in the Dark".

Gary Mitchell could be awesome, though it would have been better if they had introduced him in the first movie somehow. Still, I think this is the best of those options.

I would enjoy Q and the Borg. Although introducing both in a cinematic story-line could prove problematic as both lend themselves to series-wide story arcs.
