The new co-host of "The View," Sherri Shepherd, insisted Tuesday that Christianity was older than ancient Greece, and even Judaism.

Shepherd ? who said earlier this year that she didn't know if the world was flat or round ? said during a short-lived discussion of Greek philosophy on Tuesday's show that she was pretty sure nothing "predated Christians."

The verbal jousting began when Joy Behar mentioned watching a History Channel show on the Greek philosopher Epicurus and his definition of happiness.

"Keep in mind that probably when [Epicurus] was around, there was no Jesus Christ stuff going on," co-host Whoopi Goldberg said.

"They still had Christians back then," Shepherd interrupted.

"They had gods," Goldberg said.

"They had Christians," Shepherd insisted. "And they threw 'em to the lions."

"I think this might predate that," Goldberg said.

"I don't think anything predated Christians," Shepherd shot back.

 
yeah, I saw that......but it is not so much about religious blinders as much as it is a lack of a desire to be educated throughout her life.

however, it is good to know that our society is one where even the most ignorant can make good money.....she should be a tremendous inspiration to all the dolts out there that assume since they are so stupid they will never amount to anything.
 
Great. Now she can be the next Senator in her state collecting all the votes from the countless luddites out there.

Sherri Shepherd is a PERFECT example of the way religious beliefs have overcome science in America.
Sherri has said she doesn't believe in evolution and doesn't know if the world is flat or round.
It seems we have Americans who have learned what radical muslims learn in madrasses, only in America we learn the Christian version.

Uhhh no. I would say she is a PERFECT example of a STUPID person, but hardly some result of Christian/American brainwashing.

i disagree. i know many very smart religious people. Sherri no way is a typical religious person in the US.

Nor is the typical Muslim a radical. I'd like to think that techs is just referring to a minority in both cases, in which, IMO, the comparison has some validity.

Dumb woman either way.
