new video card requires a few boots to get it going.

i used to have an x800xt and it used ot boot fine on the first boot. now with the x1800 it takes a couple tries sometimes. not all the time. and my bios splash screen has funky colors. pretty sure its not PSU related my PSU is pretty good. not the best.

Your post makes me wonder if you plugged in the additional power connector that some of these cards require. Otherwise, I would wonder if you have a defective motherboard. But mainly, I wonder if you are missing the extra power to the card.

I just bought a x1900xtx and had that problem. After flashing my motherboard to the lastest BIOS that problem went away. Running a Lan Party UT board with ATI chipset.

Now if I could just get the dang drivers to load, I could actually use the $700 video card.

well im already at the newest bios . maybe ill try the other video card power cord since i have 2.
