My Geforce 3 Ti 500 just recently blew up and Dell was nice enough to send me a brand spankin new Geforce 4 Ti 4600. I really want it to run to par so would reformatting the computer be a good idea? It is already completely bogged down with 20 gigs of HD space left out of 120, so....I needed to ask you computer gods first if this would be a good idea. Thanks so much for your wisdom and knowledge!!

Shouldn't be an issue going from gF3 to gF4. Make sure to get some fresh drivers though.

But damn, that was generous of Dell! :D

I was just wondering if it is a better idea than not to reformat when installing a new vid card. Multiple people told me it was so I just wanted to OK it from the anand forums. Thanks

its just cause they stopped producing ti500's, i guess im gunna have to have my ti 500 fail on me, and put my ti4200 in the dell, and take the 4600 for myself
