i just got a nvidia geforce4 ti 4200 64mb agp card. Install worked fine, when i restarted it went all through the bios and the starup fine. Showed the desktop for a saceond then the screen went blank except for a bunch of short green vertical lines making up a larger horizontal line near the top of the screen.

I have no ideas, did many searches, found next to nothing, any help is GREATLY apriciated.

oh, and i'm running win 98se with a crappy asrock (asus cheap line) motherboard

thanks

Did you disable your antivirus software before you installed the driver? My brother forgot that and as a result, he got the same thing. You probably need to boot into safe mode and uninstall the driver. Let windows install it's own version of the driver and then try again without the antivirus software enabled. Otherwise, you may have installed a driver that wasn't designed for your OS. I'd double check to make sure those two things are correct.

Hope it helps,

Also, if you have an the old card, you can always go back to that until you get it fixed.

Can you Boot into SAFE MODE?

If so, go to the desktop and change the video to STANDARD VGA
and then reboot. If it doesn't work at that point, the card is defective.
