New video card displays jibberish on screen

Hi, I have a computer with the albatron kx400-8x motherboard. Up until now, I had been using the powercolor ati 9200 video card, but recently I bought a brand new BFG nVIDIA GeForce 6800 Video Card, 128MB DDR, 256-Bit card (http://www.bfgtech.com/6800OC.html). I installed this card and turned on my computer only to find that everything was garbled up jibberish from the minute the monitor turned on. I contacted the tech support and they said that it might be a problem with the bios. So I put back the old card and went on albatron's site (http://www.albatron.com.tw) and got the new version. But when I restarted the pc with the floppy to update all I got was "NTLDR missing. Press any key to restart." For now I have no choice but to stick to the old setup but I really want this new card to work, so could anyone PLEASE help me out!!!!

I got a new video card like that a while back (an old geforce1). It turned out there was a problem with the video card and just replaced it for a different one and it worked fine.

This may not be the problem in your case though, so keep trying to update that MB bios.

It sounds like you're having a problem with a boot disc. Try to start your computer with your windows2k cd and you might be able to select a command prompt at some point (before doing any sort of installation) then you should be able to access awdflash.exe(I think that's what you have) to flash your bios. Other than that, just try to make other bootdiscs or bootcds until you can boot to a command prompt.

Oh, and if you have a win98 cd available, you should also be able to boot with it. That's what I still use on my XP system when I want to boot to a dos prompt. If you're using NTFS on your hard drives though, you won't be able to access them when booted to dos, so just make sure you have your bios file on a floppy or cd-r.

Reformat the disk and make it a system boot disk. There's an option for it in the format procedure. Then copy your flash files to the disk and try again.

I was able to update the bios, and I still get that same problem.

Was everything on your screen mishmashed from the moment the monitor came on? Because thats what I'm seeing. Although the color kinda changes as it starts up like during boot, its mostly black, then when its loaded its a mishmash of all color blocks but primarily kind of teal. Did u kinda see that too?
