hey guys, my old vid card (Chaintech GeForce 4 Ti 4600) got really messed up. i dont know how, but suddenly the monitor just kept flickering...i asked ASUS (my mobo people) and they said somethings wrong wiht the RAMDAC (convers analog to digital i think they said) anyway, i need a new vid card. Was wondering whats the best buy for about $250. hopefully u guys know

the vid card will be used for gaming, watching DVD's and watchin anime
primarily watching anime and music vids though. well thanks for the help guys
 
My Top 3 Picks!

1. Radeon 9800 PRO if you can find it for under $250 (check hot deals section)

2. Radeon 9800 Non Pro can be found sometimes under $200 (flash it to a PRO if you get samsung memory on it)

3. Geforce FX 5900 (NoN ultra) can be found under $180 (flash this one to a FX 5950 ULTRA)



 
i agree with Breezie, except 5900 is second of my list cuz you can find them for $170 and it is nearly impossible to find 9800 non pros with samsung chips
 
Why did you post this in general hardware AND video? See my response in your post the video forum, I think I found you a pretty good card for your price.
