My brother and I have been playing CoD for a few years now and really enjoy the WWII first person shooter type game. I realize that CoD is now pretty old. Can you recommend a newer WWII first person shooter game? We plan to upgrade video cards as well.

Thanks for any advice.

I've never played CoD before but CoD2 is awesome. The sound effects are particularly good, as are the graphics, which totally kills my system. I'd say it's even more demanding than F.E.A.R. graphics wise, so you better have a good video card :)

One thing I don't like about it is the A.I. though. You can sometimes get stuck in places because your squad mates won't move no matter how many times you nudge them and how many times they say "Yes Sir!", they'll just stand there doing nothing. The only way out of this situation is to shoot the idiot and hope you don't kill him. I heard this was a problem with the original CoD too. I also get a kick when you nudge an officer/NCO of higher rank and they say "Yes Sir!" even though you're a private.

Oh and another thing, the game seems to be really short compared to F.E.A.R. and Quake4.

Other games that came out since COD1 (excluding COD2):

Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault (reviews weren't that great)
Red Orchestra (realistic mod for UT2004)
Brothers in Arms (slower paced game than COD)

You probably like Brothers in Arms. It bugged me. It said supports GeForce 4 cards. I was like "ALL RIGHT!!!" Then in small print it says "excluding the MX series" WHY DID I HAVE TO BE STUCK WITH THIS ACCURSED CARD!!!

COD2 was indeed short, the fast pace of the game speeds things up a bit, since you don't have endless corridors and hallways that look exactly the same to get lost in, but I had a blast playing it.
