New truck hasn't come in yet and won't for at least a few more weeks, but this will be the first vehicle I've had that has leather seats.

I'm sure I can go to the auto stores and find a myriad of products that will clean, protect/maintain my seats. That said, I figure many of you here have a good amount of experience of your own with leather seats.

So... here is my question... Read carefully.

What are some recommended processes and product for protecting and maintaining leather seats... I'd like some real world experience, not marketing hype off of a product bottle that you used once because "it must be true"!!! 🙂 ????????????????????

What is the best practice and if it involves a product...why?

Thanks guys.

Lexol - Every 6-months.

Verify which portion of the seat is leather - most likely just the seating surfaces which is the lower seat back and lower rear seat cushion of the back. Rest is vinyl.

You generally don't want to do anything to the leather right off the bat.
But when you do, Lexol. The reason for the huge following ain't no joke.

That would sure piss me off after paying the huge markup for a leather seat package.

Another vote for Lexol cleaner and conditioner. I've also had great results with Adams cleaner and conditioner and generally any of their other stuff I've used - their VRT tire & trim "dressing" works great keeping black trim pieces black.

I think the King Ranch has full leather. All the other models have leather seating surfaces - rest is vinyl.

Don't know... From what I could tell in the FX2 the leather was real and there was no vinyl. Either way, I don't care. 🙂 Wasn't that pricey and I had to get the leather in order to get the other items I wanted thanks to bundling of packages.
