hopefully thats not a quad SLI and ageia PhysX powerd machine.

Its suppose to support multi-thread cpus and ppu, hopefully we wont need quad-sli to run this. God my lappy is going to get dominated by this.

I don't think a 7800 could handle those graphics in those pics with a playable framerate. :p

I know this is a drool fest because of the new photos, but does anybody know if they are actually going to improve the gameplay?

Along those lines its supposedly going to have 14 weapons, are they going to use catergories like Half-Life and Red Faction, or am I going to have to scroll through everything just to find what I want?

Or is it way too early to be asking gameplay questions?

Well, Ut2003 and 4 were both playable on slow systems because you could change just about every detail setting in the game. The last few settings were easily accessed in the INI file.

I suspect this new version will be similar. All those screen shots were at a high resolution with max detail, but I'd bet you can probably simplify the lighting and textures down to UT classic levels.
In which case it will likely run on an X600.

Would you happen to know if an ATI X1900XT could handle the graphics present in those screen shots? :D

Well as ashamed as I am to admit it, I left ATI after 6 generations. Ignored the X1900 and went for the 7900GTX.
I think my current card could probably handle that, though I like my frame rate to be in the 60's for FPS, so maybe not.

You can play UT2k4 at lower settings on an integrrated ATi Xpress 200 graphics system, so i'm sure they'll do a good job with optimizing 2k7.

I'm sure a 7900GT + will be more than fine for mediumish settings, but really, no one knows.

Um...some of the texture work is lacking. It's not as impressive as I originally thought.

They're still using sprites for explosions??? how lame.

They cant be using sprites afaik, it supports PhysX. Unless they are just spawning a bunch of random junk to perform physics on for explosions.

All I care about is whether or not they fixed the player scaling. UT2003/4's biggest blunder was the scaling. I loved the rest of it.
