Back on topic: military headwear is supposed to look stupid and be impractical. It is part of the formal hazing esprit de corps building process that militaries have used throughout history. It's like the stupid chin strap worn across the lower lip.

I was in the Army just as the beret was coming in, and we all felt like badasses. But then I look back and remember that we were excited over a silly functionless french hat.

Also of note, that AF hat is the dumbest thing I've ever seen. Dunno why I've never noticed it before...who thought up a garrison cap with a labia in the top of it?

And the Marines thing looks retarded. I don't see how anyone can argue with that. It's not just the guy; the chick looks worse in the little hat, too.
