4790K @ 4.8Ghrtz, 1.24v, 10.42 points (Got 10.44 on newer run)
Does heat or voltage shorten the life the fastest?

Intel Xeon X5470 @ 4.3Ghz, 1.344v (constant), 5.12 Points

DDR3 8GB 1720Mhz | Windows 10 TP (numbers so far seem to be a tiny bit smaller than on win8.1 with various benchmarks)

I thought yours was very slow compared to mine I had the exact same processor but looks like you only have one, I have a pair of them and got a 7.88 score without OCing.

I swapped them out for a match set of X5492's over the weekend got an 8.12 with them you can see both scores here:

I'd like to make your speed official, if you could load the CPU with something for the screenshot.

AMD A6 3400M (Llano based) with a little massage using K10Stat to 1.8GHz (1.050v) / 2.733GHz turbo (1.3125v). Factory settings are 1.4GHz (1.075v) / 2.3GHz (1.3375v). That is 28.5% more base clock and 19% more turbo at less voltage, and slightly less power usage. Still slow, but the performance is free for the taking, and I even save a few watts for the battery use. Anyway, on to my score:

I have put the speed as 2.73GHz, did the CPU stay at that speed for the whole benchmark?

No, not even close. It just happened to jump to the turbo clock when I was taking the screen shot. It ran at 1.8GHz mostly the whole time the bench was in process, with a few blips up to the turbo clock here and there along the way. When I drop the voltage down and the base clock down to 1.733GHz (what I typically run it at) and 1.0375v, it seems to turbo a little more, but the overall score is lower than when I use the higher base clock.

OK, I will put the speed as 1.8GHz. That would be much more consistent with expectations. I wonder how it would score if it could stay that high w/o throttling? Not gonna happen with the existing cooling, though.

I see you have an Athlon x4 630 @ 3.08GHz in the chart, scored a 3.49 in this bench. Llano uses the Stars core, which I believe is a very slightly touched up core from the Phenom II, something like a 3% IPC advantage over the non-L3 Athlons, probably mostly due to the larger L2. So, my guess would be that at 2.733GHz I'd be pretty close to a score of 3, maybe even a little above.

Yea, this is a cheap-o laptop, I think if I locked the base to 2.733GHz and 1.3+ volts I'd need a new laptop after launching a bench like this that loads up all the cores. ;) But I do have an A6 3500M sitting around, just gotta figure out how to crack this thing open. Not sure if I'll get higher clocks, but the GPU portion is much better (320 VLIW5 shaders in the 3400M vs 400 VLIW5 shaders in the 3500M, both are 400MHz).

After some tinkering

4790K @ 4.9Ghz, 1.344v, 10.65 points (stable but voltage to high for comfort but it is water cooled). My normal everyday stable is 4.8 at 1.24v (or 4.6 at 1.19 depending on mood).

Probably would knock me off my little pedestal if you could OC your RAM a bit.

As always, I would like to see the CPU-Z screenshot be taken when the cores are under load, so that the speed can be made official.

Quick question, does 9.25 sound "about right" for an i7 4770k @ 4.2?

Well yeah, theoretically at least, 2x stock X5470 = X5470 @ 6.6Ghz

Forget the X5492, have you thought about doing a pin mod for a pair of X5470s to get 1600FSB (4Ghz)? Now THAT would have been a badass killer rig!

it would position itself between i7-4770K and i7-4930K, now compare the prices lol...

Still testing new 5960X .. Have had to set vcore to 1.35 to get 4.5 stable - so far ...

Interesting, I will have to research that, I have heard of them being moded to work in a LGA 775 motherboard though.

Using a CM Nepton 280L - Maxing low 70's with ambient at ~23..

I think I have some room to bump it a little more..

I'm going to be moving off of the test bed, into my case in the next few days, and exploring some more of the settings
in an effort to tweak a bit more.. I'll be happy with a solid 4.5 ...
