Frequently Answered Answers about the Optimus keyboard
It's in initial stage of production
We hope it will be released in 2006
It will cost less than a good mobile phone
It will be real
It will be OS-independent (at least it can work in some default state with any OS)
It will support any language or layout
Moscow is the capital of Russia
Each key could be programmed to produce any sequence
It will be an open-source keyboard, SDK will be available
Some day it will be split ('ergonomic')
It will most likely use OLED technology (e-paper is sooo slow)
Our studio is located two blocks from the Kremlin
It will feature a key-saver
Keys will use animation when needed
It has numeric keypad because we love it
There's no snow in Moscow during Summer
It will be available worldwide (why not?)
OEM will be possible (why not?)
Contact us for hi-res images, or interview inquires

We want to thank everyone for the support. Stay tuned for our next projects

Very true.... I mean what's a good cell phone cost nowadays....

--Mark

Probably 200$ - similar to any top of the line bluetooth type keyboard set.

Wow.. as interesting as it may be, there's NO WAY i'd spend $200+ on a keyboard.

I think that this thing was a long time coming...and it has the potential to change the future of computing. This is the kind of thing needed to bring computing to the non-english speaking nations of the world.

Keyboards have remained virtually unchanged for the past 20 years (other than some stupid multimedia buttons).

Maybe once this thing becomes standard we can finally move off QWERTY and change everyone over to DVORAK

For actual normal day to day typing ... I don't think I would EVER want that ... (I'm too dependent on my "clicky" Dvorak IBM Model M)

However, for games, especially when you play all sorts of different games in many different genres. It would be nice to be able to look down and see what everything does without having to check the manual or press random keys until you get what you want.

Hmm I wonder how the key LEDs will be assigned...say you wanted your own custom icon for one of the keys...would you download key themes off the 'net or something? Also, will the keyboard be preprogramed with all the game key LEDs in it? Like if you wanted F5 to be "take screenshot" in HL2, would it already have a LED to represent "take screenshot?" Ponder ponder...

Chances are the SDK will allow people to make and distribute their own icon packs for various games and applications. Although im assuming the keyboard will launch with a few already bulit in, photoshop etc.
