New TV

I've been thinking about getting a new TV in my room. Right now I have a 24" Apex TV. Nothing special, standard definition, mono sound, and curved screen. I was hoping for something a little bigger, like 27-30". HD isn't needed, but if it could be done it would be nice. I'm on a budget of $350 w/ shipping, so a flat screened CRT would be nice. I really want a flat screen because they seem to look nicer and richer in color. I am also hooking the TV up to my computer and using Slingbox with it... so I need a S-Video input and the higher the resolution the better. This looks nice, my friend has the 24" version, and I must say the colors are much better then my Apex. I'm hooking up my Xbox and computer to it, along with outputting the audio to my stereo. So I need something to work with my needs. TIA.

Edit: Also, since shipping seems to be so much money online, would it be better to just go to a Walmart or Bestbuy? If so, what stores would you recommend?

If you're willing to go with a no-name brand, you could try the Insignia HDTV Best Buy put on sale for Black Friday and Saturday. $350 with an $80 rebate. I got one, quality seems pretty okay. It's a heavy 27", but it gets the job done nicely.

Yeah, shipping on TVs is outrageous. Best to just pick something up in the store. When I was looking for a TV, I noticed Walmart really isn't very competitive on price for TVs unless you buy some no name brand. Anyway, I'd stick with bestbuy, This looks to be decent for what you are describing.

Ok. Considering this is going to be a Christmas gift maybe they will have some 10-25% off deals going on then, and I'll stop by.

If you don't mind getting used TVs, you may be able to find ~1 yr old Samsung/Sony 30" widescreen HDTVs for $350-$400 if you check your local craigslist.
