New TV Cable Connector

Theres a coaxial tv cable with the connector cut off of it and I'd like to put a connector on it.

I assume you just strip the insulation a bit and pop the connector on there, but I'm not sure.

Is there anything I should know?

the twist connections are good for TEMP runs...

you need to crimp (or use a pair of plyers) a connector on for good stability.

Go to Radio Shack or Home Depot and get crimp-on connectors and a crimping tool. The screw on connectors are more trouble than they're worth.

To save money on a crimping tool which I'll probably never use again, how could I just use pliers instead exactly?
