New TV: 36" Sony Flatscreen or 40"+ Projection?

Do projection TVs suffere from some sort of burn-in or fading of the image over time? Every older projection TV I've ever seen seems dim and blurry. I don't know if that's because it's old technology, or if the TV degrades.

I was looking at this 43" Samsung DLP projection TV yesterday. It's only about 40"x30"x16" and weighs 70lbs. We're talking about Sony, Toshiba, and Panasonic... any opinions on Samsung?

The sammy DLP is a nice tv.
 
Where are your Sony tv's made from?

The Sony tv we have in England are mostly from Japan or UK.

The tv we have is from UK I think. It has been going great and we have had it for the past 5yr or so. We have A LOT of Sony stuff in our house. All of it still works and is in great shape.

We have an old 21" Sony Trinitron tv works GREAT.

Maybe the differences in where it is made or that the newer Sony tv's really suck?

Our 32" Wega is great. I love it. Great picture.

I know some of the Sony stuff is pricey and more then the rest but you pay for not just the technology but the design.

I'd take a Panasonic Plasma over the Sony ones though 😀. I know when to draw the line with design and what the better technology is.

Love my 23" Sony LCD screen 😀

For me projectors look washed out and I don't like it in a lit room. Of course the ultimate is a dedicated room with a front projector 😀. Someone has that here and that is a SWEET setup! I think Apex has it but I am not sure...
