I recently bought a Tuniq 120 for my rig, after swapping out my venerable Freezer pro 7, I ran the same load tests using ortho and discovered the temp difference is only 3 degrees at load.
freezer 7: idle: 31-32, load: 56-58
Tuniq 120: idle 30ish, load: 53-56
Why do you guys think this is so? I even running this Tuniq at max 2000rpm. My current guess is the Tuniq 120 will lleave freezer 7 in the dust if the CPU is very very hot like in case of Q6600 OCed past 3 etc. It probably don't make any difference at lower temperatures.
I wonder if anyone here even try to run a Q6600 OCed past 3 Ghz with a freezer 7 caliber HSF? I heard off another forum other day that a guy who used stock HSF on Q6600 almost burnt that chip out while load testing using ortho, I think the retail HSF must just crapped out and gave up.
