New Transformers 2 Trailer

I remember watching the first one in theaters and my Jaw dropping several times....

like when:

a. Optimus and the other 3 Autobots were introduced to Sam - that whole intro was awesome
b. when starscream was fending off the other jets over the city
c. That one scene where that one medical autobot flipped over that tank's missles, and they used low frequency sounds. My body was rattling
d. and pretty much whenever they transformed in a cool way... (like when bumblebee peeled out and transformed at the same time) or when (Optimus and the other Decepticon transformed while moving on the highway)

Good to see Michael Bay actually pulling back on some of his shots so you can see what the fuck is going on.

That said, writing still seems shit, but that's not why anyone is there is it?

Fantastic. I'm pumped. For all the haters.. it's a f'ing Transformers movie.. do you expect Citizen Kane? There are robots and shit blows up. It's not supposed to be brilliant dialogue/story.
 
Looks like a fun movie.

I liked the first one for mindless entertainment but it annoyed the shit out of me all the close us shots of robots spinning around and fighting, I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on for all those scenes.

I couldn't really enjoy the first one because of this. Everything was moving so fast and the camera was so close that I had a hard time discerning what was happening.

I thought the first one was a yawner to be honest. I didn't get the feel of the movie easily. It was full of cool visuals, and action, but it just fell flat for me. I'll check this one out on video, but I just can't give it the full theater price. Just my two cents, everyone's tastes are different.
 
Awesome...been awhile since I've looked forward to big summer blockbusters, not to mention, 3 in one summer - Terminator Salvation, this, and GI Joe.

That was my main complaint as well. I understand some of the stupid shit Michael Bay put in there (Jive talkin' autobot, "lubricating" on someone), but my main problem was that everything was just too visually complex.

Looks like ol' Mike has learned to shoot *wide* and use *color contrast* (see meteors crashing into aircarft carrier, brightly colored robots on drap desert backgrounds, etc.) so that the eye can distinguish what's occurring in his absurdly frenetic scenes.

By god, he's growing as a filmmaker.
