Don't tell anyone but I have an older Fuji mountain/cruising bike. I'm impressed by its quality. I've ridden some bikes where it seems like it takes a lot of effort to keep the bike going, while the fuji just glides along effortlessly.

Actually, Fuji is arguably the best bang-for-the-buck bike these days. Their aluminum road bikes with near top-line components are under $1000 and weigh about 17 lbs out of the box. I know serveral guys around town that have them.

Hi, I need a sound byte, could you just say:

"Yeah, I can't wait to ride the steel, Man!"

You basically did in the first post, but I need a sound byte. :)

Yeah, but then you'd end up taking care of MY kid. Think about that for a minute. You know what a raging smartass dillweed I am; imagine what my offspring are going to be like. :D

Very nice bike, I wished I could have one. But I ride my bike on campus, which means poor parking by OTHERS, scratching my frame, stolen parts, and rain to deal with.

Looks like I will be stuck with my Diamondback with front rim slightly untrue, too lazy to fix.

Yeah, I have an old mountain bike for commuter duty. This one will be for racing/training on sunny days only. ;)

It's actually the builder's last name. Good name for a guy who only builds steel bike frames, eh?

Well, the welds are so tiny and even it looks like the tubes are literally fused to one another and the whole thing only weighs about 3.5 lbs. Other than the paint it was hand-assembled completely by one person. Whole thing should weigh in around 17 lbs once I build it up.

It's like anything else though I suppose. A computer is a computer is a computer to someone who's not into them while neat stuff like RAID, clever cooling, etc are droolworthy to an enthusiast.

Uh, yeah. I have one of those too. This is a hobby. They're fun. Try it sometime. :p

Oh...I have a Trek bike. I ride once in a while, but I get places faster in my car :)

I use mine occasionally but I just hate being cooped up in it. Sun on face and wind in hair is a much nicer way to get around IMO.

Keeps me from turning into a blob as well. ;)
