Hi,

I would really appreciate help with my new 840 pro 128GB SSD.

I'm getting Random Write results of 4,717 IOPS in the Magician Benchmark.
Seems extremely low, it says out of 90,000!

I'm running Windows 7 64bit ultimate on an Asus P9X79, i7-3820 3.6GHz, 16GB RAM.

- Drive is connected to SATA3 6GB on-board port.
- Performed all the optimization processes in the magician.
- installed the latest Intel RSTe drivers from Asus web site.
- set all profiles to performance - bios, power, magician...
- Set manual paging file to 1024MB-2048MB (read somewhere it might help)

Please help!

Thanks!!

I have a 840 pro 512 and my 4k writes have never come close to the 90 k mark . I have recently upgraded the firmware to DXM05B0Q and it has improved slightly 65K iops maybe 70K but never 90K. I'm on the Intel SATA 6 controller. My OS settings in Magician v4.1 are set for maximum reiabilty. So I really don't know why either.

what was the 4k writes with DXOM4BOQ?
I haven't updated my firmware yet, because I read some people said performance went DOWN.

I don't quite remember, but no where near the 90K iops the drive spec is advertised at. The new firmware does seem to slow the 4k iops ever so slightly.

I'm getting around 60k iops write and 65k read on the 4k bench ,using 4.1 magician.

Same problem here. About the same numbers. 4.1k IOPS on write. Crap. Any solution or official word on this?

Anyone tried downgrading? I downloaded the DXM04B0Q ISO but it says there is no eligible SSD. Either it cant find it or its seeing the newer firmware :(

You should check some things...
- Version of your driver, known issues
- Power Management in BIOS, any "energy saving" features could slow down your system
- LPM - Link POwer Management, slows speed when enabled
- Cache settings - go to IRST Control Center and read the hints on that.
How old are your drives, was TRIM always enabled...and so on.

I have a 256GB PRO and my speed are quite good.
AHCI and SATA interface isn't shown because my Intel controller is running in RAID mode.
