OK, I downloaded Steam, opened an account, put in my code for Arkham City, now what?

When I go to the store it says I already own the game, there is an Arkham City icon on my desk top, but when I double click it, nothing happens?

HELP!

EDIT: On the store page is says NOT RELEASED???

I'm going to lock this before you get yourself into trouble.

It says the release date was November 21st. If you go to the library in steam you can't launch it from there?

Nope, it says "Status, Not Yet Released"

EDIT: Well I went to settings, adjusted my internet bandwidth, Steam restarted and now it's installing...

Once a game is downloaded thru Steam, do you always have to play it thru Steam?

Thanks!

Well I had the program but have never actually used it...

For some reason I thought you played left 4 dead,,,, and some other steam powered games?

I keep forgetting that a lot of games on steam do not require steam, and they can be played on their own, maybe that is where I am getting mixed up at?

Skyrim is also a Steamworks game. OP has supposedly been playing that one too. :hmm:

Edit: Phynaz ninja-posted before I did

Um, Steam isn't the only place that sells game...

...just saying.
You have to activate Left4dead in Steam regardless of where you bought it. Moreover, in the linked thread you claim to be playing single-player only...:sneaky:
