I have built many computers over the years, but never a SFF. Now the GF wants a 'cute little computer' and she thinks that the SFFs fit the bill. So I am gonna probably build one. I have always heard about the Shuttle SN45G and was probably gonna go with that, but I just wanted to know if there are other ones I should consider.
thanks.

I just bought a barebones & saw everything out there. For girlfriend cute, check out the msi megas--really small, integrated radio slick design like a sony stereo. But cramped inside (onboard video though they can get a tv tuner in there somehow) and noisy they say.

Otherwise A-Open makes a couple of slick little cubes, the x-series. Theres a gloss white one like an Apple clone, comes in a bunch of colors, others have integrated radios & they're pretty serious boxes & not noisy the reviews say.

And then there are Shuttles, which are 1/3 more $ on avg than everyone else, but v high quality build. SFF tech has a good comparison feature chart and Tom's just did a roundup btw.

Just got a Biostar IDEQ 200N. Nforce 2 mobo, Geforce 4 mx400 with dual monitor support, features up the rear. Running a 2500+ at 3200+ speed and can get it to 2400 mhz if I wanted. Been running it for the last 5 days or so non stop adn works like a charm. Only problem is heat. had high temps till I removed bars behind the exhaust fan to get rid of any restrictions and installed a better fan (few more CFM'S) and temps dropped 10-12 degrees.
Newegg has it for $260 right now and comes in black or silver. Almost made of 100% aluminum too:)
PM if you have more questions or whatever on it if you like.

I think an SN41G2V2 is perfect for your GF. It is a nforce2 chipset with integrated graphics. it has everything you need and has the 250watt PSU.
