Ok, so i have an AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego, and i was hoping to get this guy up to 2.8GHz, but have hit a brick wall at 2.7GHz. My last run was an FSB of 220MHz, and my cpu multiplier is on the default 12x. I have already increased my vcore 6.6% (1.492v) and do not want to risk increasing it anymore. While i was running prime95, i monitered my CPU temp, and it maxed out around 55C. After i restarted and set my FSB to 225, windows would no longer load. I am wondering what might be the bottleneck right now, as i have already set my HTT Frequency down to 3X, and my memory clock index value to 133MHz. I find it hard to believe that i cannot get more out of this processor. My specs are as follows:
AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego
MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum
OCZ DDR400 2GB Dual Channel (2x1GB) @ 2-3-2-5 1T
Is there something i am missing here, or have i really just hit my max? Should i continue to increase my vcore, or is 1.5v pretty much the max? Also, what is a good temp to be at while stress testing small FFTs on Prime95?
