well ive been playing with linux all day(red hat) and i just figured out how to install the flash plugin for the mozilla browser(yay!!) but im having problems installing 1.0.6 version of firefox...

when i start up the install wizard i run thru all the options, everything seems fine but when i click "install" on the last window the window closes and nothing else happens...what am i doing wrong?

btw where is the BEST directory to install files to, that could be my problem

Thanks!

Which version of redhat is this? Anyways, assuming you're using something decently recent, you should be able to type (as root) "yum install firefox" and all will be taken care of for you. Welcome to not installing software the windows way 😉
