Just set up my Dell 1901FP and it looks very strange to me.. Very bright, very whitish.. I heard there was a tuning program or something to get it to behave a little more normal. Any help would be appreciated

For some reason, "contrast" is greyed out in my monitor menu.. what does that mean :p

If you've got it hooked up via DVI, there's no adjustment necessary. Just press the Auto Adjust button and it'll do it all for you.

Alright tried that and it still is very bright.. can I not adjust contrast because it's DVI?

Are you using DVI? Does your video card have DVI out? When I used my VGA out on my video card the picture appeared like how you are describing, very bright and whitish.

You should by all means be able to do so...I have no problem doing it on my Dell 1504FP connected with DVI.

EDIT: I can't actually adjust contrast, only brightness. Never tried it before I guess. Besides, I think you'll get used to the brightness after a bit...I can't stand the dimness of CRTs now.

Manual say anything?

Was your old monitor really dim? When I first switched from CRT to LCD, it was really bright, but that was just the LCD and my eyes not used to it.

I think the problem is that I have it right beside a 19' Trinitron CRT and it seems really dim next to it. The CRT looks awful now, I don't know why it used to look great :\

Dual DVI input card, LCD on DVI, CRT on VGA.
