<< I am new to dual processor platform

1) can anyone give me hardware advice like Intel or AMD and the motherboard?

2) RAM issue mainly on ECC or non-ECC

I am mainly going to use it only on games, DVD, burning, video editing

thanks

1)AMD would be superior, especially on the 760MPX chipset. Not only will you get a superior CPU, but you'll get overclocking support.
2)ECC if you plan on building a server, non-ECC if not.

I can elaborate if you would like additional help.

<< Also..How does running Durons in SMP work? Can it be done etc? >>

Just drop two Durons in a 760MP or 760MPX board and you're set. I don't know why you'd want to do that...

Asus is already out with their MPX board, and it's a world-beater. The first dual-processing board with overclocking support!
Specifications can be found here
And GamePC's Review of this can be found here

If you don't plan on overclocking the Tyan board will work fine plus its a steal at $193 at NewEgg. Just remeber to get registered memory as the Tiger MP requires it.
