I was just starting to look into cool and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on start. I read all of the guides just really need some help picks out parts. I was planning on picking this set up posted on another forum but would like feedback about it.

CPU WaterBlock - Cooltechnica MP-1 CPU Block
GPU WaterBlock - DangerDen Maze4 GPU
Pump - Swiftech MCP355 / DDC-2 (same pump)
Radiator - Swiftech MCR-220
1/2" T-Line or Reservoir
7/16"ID 5/8"OD Masterkleer or Tygon R3603

Any suggestions to make it better or easier for a first timer?

Woah i havent seen the name cooltechnica in such a long time. Its actually an AquaXtreme. This is what there more commonly known as

Did you pick out these parts? or do you have these parts? if you need to pick out parts, then you need to start over in the block department.

Also the DDC-2 is no longer made. The 355's and any other site you see DDC-2 is really a DDC-3.2

The 2 is discontinued and had massive failure rates. Also native on this unit is 3/8 tubing. an Aftermarket top is recomended.

Yeah after i really looked for some of the parts i realized that many of them were either very hard to find, or sold out every where. Do you have any other ideas to switch to or do you suggest i just purchase a beginner kit from petra or the swiftech one.

Yeah I have. I feel like I know well enough what I need but dont know the companies well enough to try to buy parts myself. I have about 200 to 250 to spend on cooling.

Generally speaking, I've found the performance-pcs, sidewinder and petras tech shop have the best prices and best selection(at least of stuff you'd actually want) Petra's kits are pretty nice, I'd even suggest giving them a call to place your order, they can make sure you don't miss anything. I have a fairly large quantity of Pentosin G12 Red, if you decide to go that way, that I'm trying to pawn off on people for a couple bucks plus shipping for about 2-4x what you'll actually need.

Hello everyone -- I am an anandtech noob.

Was hoping to get some advice on CPU cooling solutions to attach to a P5E3 premium? I'd like to stick to top-notch air solutions, as I'll be moderately overclocking a Q9450 (maybe to 3.6 or so?).

I'll be using a Stacker 830 Evo, and it looks like the TRUE120 fits in that case so long as one of the sidefan slots is left empty.

In any case, hope to get some good suggestions.

It would be a good idea to make your own thread instead of stealing someone elses!

We would be happy to answer your questions!

BTW Welcome to Anandtech.

Anyhow OP:

Id add the XSPC Res/TOP combo for your pump. That will keep it all 1/2ID barb flowing and its a pretty hot top.

As for the GPU block, the Swiftech MCW60 is a very good core only block. That is my next recomendation.

Id also upgrade on the radiator to a MCR320

You dont need a res, if you get that top.

Masterkleer 7/16 is my personal favorate.
