I'm about to spend $333 on a new set of Goodyear Aquatreds for my Explorer. Is this about the right price to spend and are these quality tires? From everything I've seen so far it seems like a good deal just wanted to see if the group knew anything I didn't.

That sounds about right for those tires. Do you really need Aquatreads tho? I don't think those are the ideal tires for you.

I decided on those because they were rated for 80,000 miles and only $10 more per tire. Plus with winter coming the extra grip in wet weather cant hurt.

Those things suck. They may be decent in the rain but they don't do squat in snow. If you want your unwieldy beast of a vehicle rolling over go ahead and get those tires. :(

From some testing I've read, Aquatred tires are not one of the best for wet-weather grip.

Hope this helps a bit.
