New Tire time! Choices..hmm

Hey all, I was just browsing prices for a decent, cheap set of all season tires.

Got quotes from 3 places, all had different brands in my price range and just wondered what you guys might think. All prices are mounted / balanced

$322 at a local place for a set of Generals.

$320 at Walmart for a set of Douglass tires

$303 from Tirerack for a set of Yokohama AVID TOURING-S or $278 for some Fuzion HRi tires with a local mount and balance.

Any opinions? Other recomendations for a better value on 195/60/R15 tires?

The Yokohama's had good reviews, and supposedly a longer tread life than the low end general or douglass tires I looked up...so I'm leaning towards Tire Rack already, but maybe they have a better value I'm missing?
 
Is there a BJ's near you? You could get a set of four BFGoodrich Traction T/As for $352 and that includes FREE lifetime balance and rotation, Free flat repair, disposal, valve steam, and a Road Hazard warranty that lasts for 3 years or 36,000 miles (whichever comes first). And these Traction T/As have a 70,000 mile treadwear warranty.

Man, that is a good deal for all the value add, but BJ's is 83 miles away..🙁

I have..a Costco nearby as far as member chains go.
 
Oh, I found that BJ's deal at costco basically.

BF Goodrich Traction T/A's Mounted and Balanced for 287.96 + Tax.

Not a bad deal, thanks mbrown! Now to see if I can hit up a guest pass or get my brother to get me a guest pass or something. 😛

I don't really shop there, don't want to buy a full membership.

I've got the BFG Traction TA's from costco, with the $60 coupon I think it worked out to $360 for my car, tires are shot now though, makes driving in the snow interesting, 60k km, we'll see how the warranty goes, they were acceptable when new, and I'm pretty picky about my tires.

No comparison. The RT's are ranked 7th in the standard touring tires while the HP's are ranked 2nd in grand touring tires and only cost $2 tire more. You can get 4 tires delivered from Tirerack for $277.50. That also means that Discount Tire will match that price plus installation.
FWIW, there are 2 different BFG Traction T/A tires so if you go that route make sure you get the T/A T (which is rated 5th in standard touring) and not the T/A Spec which totally sucks!
 
The BFG's still have 5 or 6 32nds left, need to be under 2 for warranty, I'd recommend staying away.

I'm headed to Belle Tire for some krappy korean rubber.
