Also no Arnold = good omen for T4
Fixed.

Although technically he'll be in the movie, his role is extremely limited (only there for story continuity).

No, he took a minor role in hopes that the residual income can pay off Californias budget deficit. ;)

And here I was hoping that the terminator series would continue to depict the super powerful, all-knowing robots of the future had a glitch that required them to speak with an Austrian accent. NOW how am I going to take this series seriously with a continuity break like that?

My wife's cousin was one of 3 people to audition for the role of Kyle Reese. Needless to say he didn't get the part. I wish he did ... oh well. He has done alot (Step Mom, Road to Perdition, and other movies. he's 18 and probably made more than I have in my lifetime)

is this your wife's cousin? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0014582/

bio says he turned down the role in sixth sense that went to haley joel osment. oops.

Also no Arnold = no Terminator movie

That's a silly thing to say as the series is much more than a show piece for an austrian body builders physique. This is the movie that needed to be made; depicting the actual invasion. I'm pumped :D

No this movie does not need to be made just like T3 didn't need to be made either.

I heard about you. You must be that guy who watched the future scenes in the first two movies and said "I hope they don't make an entire movie about this because that would be way to awesome!"

PS

FVCK Arnold Braunschvaggert. He is not what made the terminator series awesome, which is evidenced by T3.

He is going to voice the T-800.

I was trying to watch it but someone kept fucking walking in front of my monitor. I'm trying to watch the goddamn trailer, but, no, no, shut the fuck up Bruce! Do you see me trying to watch this thing or not? What? You were looking at the light? For fuck's sake you're amateur. What the fuck!

Trailer #3

Oh shi-

I'm pumped. I like how it looks to actually have an interesting plot with the human robot.

I'm hoping this is good. After the atrocity that was "T3" this could be redemption. This should have been the third movie, ever since T2 I said the third film had to be set in the future to be good.

Jesus, T3 wasn't THAT bad. It just wasn't anywhere near as good as T1/2. I actually really liked the scene where Arnold pulls out the hydrogen cell and it makes a mini-nuke explosion - it was one of those awesome, "hey guys, let's blow something up!" moments.

T1 - sci-fi classic
T2 - Awesome script. Ground breaking in its day
T3 - check your brain at the door, this one is simply an action movie. A good action movie, but nothing like T1 and T2.
T4 - Jury is out (looks awesome in trailers)

what's the timeline for this movie? does it take part right after T3 or what?

Go to IMDB and it will answer your question.

2018.

It is actually a prequel to T1. After seeing the trailer, I now understand why the producers are saying this.

T3 is what happens when you exploit a franchise for the sake of summer ticket sales. I thought it was an abomination on several levels, not the least of which was the premise of the "terminatrix". Oh I get it clever hollywood hacks, you've added "teh boobies" to a winning formula, to the robot antagonist no less, which is a sure fire way to add another $100 million dollars of teenage boy part-time McDonalds job money to your bottom line. Considering as I was on the brink of a vegetative state the only time I attempted to watch this movie, I can't quite recall if the terminatrixt had military grade missiles coming out of it's chest but it would've been a major break in style it weren't.

Nick Stahl did an "adequate" job because I think he's a decent actor, I jut don't like his face.

Arnold is as terrible of an actor as he ever was, and due to his extremely advanced age, he can't be taken seriously in the role of a synthetic robot from the future. Unless of course Skynet is getting senile and added "old fart" to "austrian accent" to it's list of evil android production glitches. Perhaps this is related to my gripe with the "terminatrix" and they were hoping to attract an undefined demographic with Arnold's sagging tits.

I can avoid anything with Michael Bay or Jerry Bruckheimer's name on it because I know they produce nothing but garbage, but the terminator franchise is something I happen to be pretty fond of so it irritates the piss out of me when I'm essentially suckered into watching one of those brain dead "flashy lights and loud noises" spectacles when I expect a continuation of a well written, well executed movie franchise.

I recall first seeing the trailers for T3 and nausea I felt when thy introduced the terminatrix. With the T4 trailer, I don't get a sense of nausea largely because it appears they're taking the franchise seriously again.

Michael Biehn was great... he got old and normal now (see Criminal Minds last episode)... doesn't have the military leader look anymore. ;)

BTW, this trailer was epic. Only problem is I don't think we can make it to the theatres to see it - young kids = no independance = nothing else on the mind.

for those who didn't go there - the official website has a slightly different version, scenes.

http://terminatorsalvation.warnerbros.com/ (2 more versions if you click 1 or 2 at the bottom (full screen).

Written by James Cameron (yay) and directed by McG (interesting, it doesn't look like his work from what I see of the trailer). Bryce Dallas Howard (meh) & Moon Bloodgood (I hope she's the lead female)...

Don't forget that Helena Bonham Carter is also in it. From what I read I think she is going to be a super baddy.

Anyways, that trailer was awesome! Can not wait

I think T3 to T2 is what Pearl Harbor is to Tora Tora Tora... basically a generic Hollywood action movie that someone managed to buy terminator rights for. T3 might have as well been directed by Michael Bay, it would end up being the same.

I didn't actually know the new Terminator movie is supposed to be directed by Michael Bay... aw shit. Expect constant explosiions, blindingly-bright scenes and shots where the color saturation is turned to the max.

It's funny I showed my wife the trailer and her reply was "thank god it comes out a month before the babies due!" :p
