New Technology Discovered to advance digital cameras!

wow thats kewl🙂 had to reg to read though. guess i had to do it sometime heh. almost glad i don't have a digi cam yet, they better hurry.

<< Drat! Right after I've bought my new digital camera 😛 >>

judging by that yahoo article, unless you own a pro camera you'll not have lost anything with your recent purchase!

Seems that this just gives better color accuracy, its a good thing, but what I would like more is higher resolutions and higher capacity storage, and more widely awailable photo books for long term storage.

yup, everyone should be using no less then a 3mpix camera if they want to take pictures for keeps😛 otherwise its gonna suck in X years when you go back to look at pictures you only have cruddy low res sources of. step back from true photo quality isn't an advance🙂

You guys should take a look at Canon's CMOS technology. Their semi-pro 3 Megapixel CMOS camera blows away any consumer 4-5 Megapixel camera on the planet. And that includes their own 4 MP Canon G2, which I own.

Yeah, the D30 rocks! My G2 was expensive, so I can't afford a $2,500 digicam just yet. Hopefully this new CCD will bring professional quality digital photography to the masses in the next 1-2 years.

thanks for the link GTaudiophile

I love how well this takes pictures, but still I want higher res, 2268 x 1512 just aint good enough for A4 printouts.

It should be fine for A4 sized paper, unless you're in the habit of viewing your A4 prints at 6 inches away from your face. Plus you can upscale the image before the printing. You won't gain true resolution, but it does make a difference in the final print.

That said, you wouldn't be able to crop anything.

yeah, this is definetly better than the current technology, and the best thing is that when this will finaly be cheaper the resolution will probably be alot higher and then its a good time to replace my current 3mpix olympus 🙂
