I got a Tbird 1.4GHz yesterday and at first it worked fine. I had it running at 1500 last night and most of this morning. After I put my Card Cooler XT in, it wouldn't boot. I had to clear CMOS and now it won't run at 1400 anymore. Sometimes it will work for a few minutes, but most of the time it locks right after booting into Windows. I had to underclock it to get it to work. Does anyone know what's wrong? Could it be my power supply(Antec 300w)?

What is the card cooler XT? is that like a fan that attaches in one of the PCI slots (not physically, just takes up a spot)?

If that's the case, try taking it out; probably supply. My Palomino won't run higher than 1400 mhz with a 300 watt supply. 431 Watt supply coming in tomorrow.

It's probably not getting enough power, these 1.4+ Athlons really needs a lot of juice.

A 400+ power supply might be what you need.

I have been trying different speeds. Right now it's at 1450. It seems to work at everything but 1.4GHz.
