you are aware that RAID 0 raptors blow ass right?

If that is true, then get two regular hard drives and run them on RAID. You better not tell me my two 80gb maxtors blow ass because I personally timed install/game load times with/without RAID and the differences are very significant.

Also, did you mean that Raptors running RAID will be slower than a single raptor? If that's the case then is certainly "blows ass," otherwise any improvement is for the better.

Do you really need 250 gigs? I would go down to 120 and get a bunch of dvd-r's unless you got a really good deal on it

Your cpu will be your bottleneck. Get one video card now, and the FX-55. Its hard to be OCZ powerstream psu's, I would not own any other. If you have to cheapen it up skimp on the soundcard and pick that up later ;) Im running on onboard audio for now, and loving every minute of it hehehe. You can always get one raptor now, and another later to raid with, its what im doing :) NEC's ND3500A/B DVDRW's are cheap and great quality. My system came in at just under $2500. Money well spent. Just my 2 cents. Good luck on your build!

I want this case:

CoolerMaster ATX-220B-VX1. It is discontinued, but I found out that SunDialMicro actually has it in stock.

no offense, but why not try to get the compatability issues worked out, and maybe you could save yourself ~$2500+? what games?

No reason to upgrade your current system, this thread is a hoax. Even with compatibility issues you could buy/swap parts and get something to work for less than $2500. I'm a computer NOOB and i know better. Please say ha ha april fools or something.
