New system running subpar

I just built a new system. It an A64 3500+ (939 newcastle), MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, 512 x 2 Crucial Ballistix 3200, EVGA 6800 GT, and WD Raptor 3DMARK05 is giving me around 4450 marks, whereas my old system (3000+ (754), K8T Neo, 512 x 2 crucial 3 cas memory, WD Raptor) was giving me around 4600. For both systems I am running Nvidia 66.81 drivers. How the heck is my new FASTER system actually getting less marks in 3dmark05? I know this isn't as good of benchmarking as say Doom 3 or something. But c'mon, how can it be slower!?!? Thoughts? Suggestions? Any help would be great appreciated. Thanks all!

Also, I can't seem to overlock this thing worth beans. Once I get over 205mhz FSB I always have 3dmark05 lockup on me. And, yes, the HT is at 4x. Thoughts there?

 
Yes, the videocard is clocked the same as before (default). As for the memory being a "mass" pair-what exactly do you mean? Is there something that I am overlooking that I need to adjust to get the FSB stable at a minimum of 210mhz? I don't want a super overlocked system, just something a little faster than stock and stable. Thanks.
 
Maybe the Cool & Quite is kicking in because the CPU is too hot and its underclocking itself.
I think I read somewhere that the more they overclocked the chip the more it would just underclock itself because of the heat. I could be extremely way off here since it was around 4.am when I read that and I was looking for something totally different,but that would also explain the crappy overclocks.

Also what do you got for a power supply ?
 
I dunno, check the 12v + amperage.

Mine is @ 28 amps which was one of the best cheap power supplies I could find.

If yours is at 14 amps or lower it might be a good time to replace it.

See if you can dig up the specs on it
