Here are the answers to the questions from before...
----------------------------------------------------
1. System will be used for general computing and gaming mainly SimCity and FPS like Battlefield
2. Budget is around a thousand though less is always better
3. USA
4. N/A only buying in USA
5. No brand preferences
6. No Current Parts Reused unless it would make sense to, current system was built a long time ago and only new part is a PS that was purchased 3 years ago
7. No Overclocking
8. 1680 x 1050
9. As soon as possible
-----------------------------------------------------

Now I was going to get this configuration but have since backed off as I think some of it might be overkill or mismatched...

ASROCK|Z77 PRO3 Z77 LGA1155
INTEL|CORE I7 3770 3.4G
SAPPHIRE 100352-4L Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 PCI-Express Video Card with Boost
CORSAIR|TX650 V2 650W
DVD BURNER
16GB Ram (Already Purchased)
Samsung 250gb SSD (Already Purchased)

I still have no idea on a case, want to be under $100 for that, and I am now wondering if a core i5 makes more sense and also if the power supply is more than necessary as well as possibly looking at a different motherboard since I have no plans to overclock?

any suggestions appreciated.

No on the i7, get the 3570k i5. See if you can re-assign some of that budget into a better GPU and get a 7970. Take a look at the Fractal Design Define R4 in white. I just got it for $75 (normally $119).

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352025 with the $10 new customer (had a friend at work order it for me) Obviously it's sold out, but I think Amazon has one around the same price.

Hey thanks so here is what I was thinking before I read your post....

LITE-ON DVD Burner - Bulk Black

Antec Three Hundred Two Black

CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX650 V2 650W

ASRock Z77 Pro3 LGA 1155 Intel Z77

Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W

Sapphire ATI 7950

And then the Mem and HD I already bought....

Not sure I can stretch the budget to go with the higher card as that seems to be upwards of $400, though I am buying everything except the vid card first so maybe?

I will check out the fractal design case.

How much are you paying for that power supply? 650w is a little overkill for your build, a 500w unit should more than cover you.

The PS is I think $90 and then there is a $20 rebate or something....I was just going with one of the certified 7950 Power Supplies and that was the lowest one I could find.

I just ordered the system, the PS was 89.99 down from 119 (Instant Rebate), there was another $10 off with a code, and then a $20 Mail In Rebate so 59.99 for the 650, couldn't find much else in that rage which offered the same....whole thing was just shy of $500 and got a $10 newegg discount that I can use towards a video card or something when I get it.

OP does not need even the 7950 if he is only gaming at 1680x1050 (unless there is a near term, almost certain upgrade in monitor res coming). Without O/C you can downgrade to an i5 3450 or similar.

You may have posted previously, but what is your 3yr old PSU? If it is good enough quality reusing should not be an issue, power consumption in new builds is less than 3 years ago in general.
